This section shows the results of the third Italian National Forest Inventory INFC2015; tables of results can be dowloaded from the links below, grouped by topic. Inventory statistics are available both nationally and for individual regions and for the various hierarchical levels, from the most general (the inventory macro-categories and categories) to the more detailed (the forest types) given in brackets. The numbering of the tables follows that adopted for the previous INFC2005 inventory.
The results, definitions and classifications adopted, and the survey and data processing methods are described in:
P. Gasparini et al. (eds.), Italian National Forest Inventory – Methods and Results of the Third Survey. Inventario Nazionale delle Foreste e dei Serbatoi Forestali di Carbonio — Metodi e Risultati della Terza Indagine. Springer Tracts in Civil Engineering.
Some of the tables of results accessible from the links below were adapted from the above cited book, in order to have their numbering consistent with the tables of results of INFC2005.
The main results are also summarized in:
De Laurentis D., Papitto G., Gasparini P., Di Cosmo L., Floris A., 2021. ITALIAN FORESTS - Selected results of the third National Forest Inventory INFC2015. Council for Agricultural Research and Economics, Research Centre for Forestry and Wood (CREA-FL); Carabinieri Command of Forestry, Environmental and Agri-food units, Studies and Projects Office of the Carabinieri Command for the Protection of Biodiversity and Parks. 44 pp.
INFC statistics are produced by the Carabinieri Command of the Forestry, Environmental and Agro-Food Units and the Research Centre for Forestry and Wood of the Council for Agricultural Research and Economics (CREA).
